How Brahma the Creator designed Age of Universe & Life Cycles

Image
Creator of this Universe Brahma dev lives a very long long life. From Brahma's Perspective our lives are very very very very short. Brahma's 1 Kalpa (daytime = 12 hours) is ours 4.32 billion years & his night also the same. That means His whole day (24 hours) constitute ours 8.64 billion years. His 30 days or 1 month is ours 259.2 billion years. His 12 months or 1 year is ours 3.1104 trillion years. 50 years of Brahmaa = 1 Paraardha. 2 Paraardhas = 100 years of Brahmaa (the lifespan of Brahmaa) is ours 311.04 trillion years. Brahmaa in his day (daytime) creates 14 Manus. Lifespan of a Manu is called a Manvantara. 1 Manvantara (306.72 million years has 71 Chaturyugas or Divyayugas. 1 Chaturyuga or Divyayuga (4.32 million years) has 4 yugas and they are:-  (1) Satyayuga = 1,728,000 years (2) Dwaaparayuga = 1,296,000 years (3) Tretaayuga = 864,000 years Kaliyuga = 432,000 years So, we are in Brahmaa's 51st year, out of 14 Manus we are in 7th Manu's reign named Vaivasva...

NASA confirms what Vedas said, Our Sun Chants "Om"

Image
It has been mentioned in the Vedas and other ancient Indian scriptures that a sound asserts from the star of our solar system (sun). According to Vedas this sound is nothing else than ‘OM’, the Shabdabramha (the highest considered word). This up till now was considered to just be a fiction. But, recently National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and European Space Agency (ESA) after a long term research have to a point that Sun actually utters a sound and that is nothing but Om. The joint lab of NASA and ESA Solar Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) recorded this ‘voice’ coming out of Sun and thoroughly studied it for years. The Michelson Doppler Technique was adopted for this. Professor BN Dwivedi of IIT BHU sees it as a big achievement. He says, “Our Vedic system knew many facts about the science of space which unfortunately the modern science did not accept.” “But, thungs have started to change over past few years, after lot of monetary and mental expense, the modern sc...

Atmaram bone indicates Moksha?

Image
What does Atmaram stand for?  ATMA - “SOUL” RAM - “LORD” The name Atmaram is of Indian (Sanskrit) origin and means "Atma means soul and Ram means Lord. Combined means the one who is Lord of his own soul." The Aatmaram is a piece of bone which is a part of the ribcage closest to the heart. In Hindu religion, it is said here, that this is the place where the soul resides. Although, the soul is said to be in the entire body but it is said that this is the centre point. It is a small bone, nearly perfect model of a person, called Atma-Ram — like arms, legs, head and other parts of the body. Mostly said to have found post cremation process. It looks like a person in a yogic sitting position with crossed legs and hands and fingers in a mudra. This atmaram is supposed to signify the greatness and the purity of the person. Though, not the everyone knows about it and it is left unacknowledged. But having said that, It is a sign of a passed-away person, that his soul got “MOKSHA”. Pos...

Where was America and other countries when Ramayana and Mahabharata were happening in India?

Image
These were explained well in puranas. America is in Krauncha Dweepa. This Krauncha Dweepam (an island with area of 16 lakhs into 12 miles) is beyond Ghrutha Samudram (Ghee ocean). There is Ksheera Samudram (milk ocean, with area of the same 16 lakhs into 12 miles) beyond this island. Krauncha Dweepam (Island) contains seven mountains as it's boundaries. Seven rivers are running through these mountains. The Krauncha mountain has been cut by Lord Subrahmanyam to reduce its arrogance, on the request of all Gods. Kuruvarsham (a continent) is north boundary to Jambudweepam (Asia). Russia is in Kuruvarsham and it's old name is Kirikisthhan. Arjuna conquered Uththara Kuru Lands. Thushara Rajyam had become Thurkamenisthhan and Kambhoja rajyam had become Thazikisthan. There was a large forest in Krauncha Dweepam, and its name is Kapilaranya. This forest has become now, as California. The earth was divided into seven islands after the ruling of the sons of Swayambhuva Manu, who ruled th...

More on Kali Yuga & Kalki Avatar

Image
Once Srila Prabhupada was giving a lecture on Srimad Bhagavatam in Los Angeles. He looked out at his disciples seated around him, and said - Just the fact, that you have taken birth in this Kali-yuga means you are very, very, VERY sinful. Three times he repeated 'very.' So the answer to your question is a big resounding YES. The conclusion is that one does not take birth in Kali-yuga unless one is very sinful. THE AGE OF QUARREL Sukadeva Gosvami says: My dear King, in the beginning, during Satya-yuga, the age of truth, religion is present with all four of its legs intact and is carefully maintained by the people of that age. These four legs of powerful religion are truthfulness, mercy, austerity and charity. --SB 12.3.18 The people of Satya-yuga are for the most part self-satisfied, merciful, friendly to all, peaceful, sober and tolerant. They take their pleasure from within, see all things equally and always endeavor diligently for spiritual perfection. --SB 12.3.19 In Treta-y...

Is it True that Evil People will Thrive in Kalyug?

Image
Read this and you will know how people will become Evils in Kaliyuga. This is predicted in Srimad Bhagavatam only. In the last canto of the Bhagavata Purana there is a list of predictions and prophecies about the dark times for the present age of Kali Yuga. The following 15 predictions, written 5,000 years ago by sage Vedavyasa, are amazing because they appear so accurate. Despite the negative tone of these prophecies, there is still one bright spot for all of us, which is mentioned at the end. Prediction 1: Religion, truthfulness, cleanliness, tolerance, mercy, duration of life, physical strength and memory will all diminish day by day because of the powerful influence of the age of Kali. Source: Srimad Bhagavatam 12.2.1 sri-suka uvaca tatas canu-dinam dharmah satyam saucam ksama daya kalena balina rajan nanksyaty ayur balam smrtih Prediction 2: In Kali Yuga, wealth alone will be considered the sign of a man's good birth, proper behaviour and fine qualities. And law and justice ...

More about Yugas : Satya, Treta, Dwapar and Kali

Image
History is divided into 4 Yugas or epochs of time. According to Manusmriti, the division is as follows: -> Satya Yuga - 4800 Years - Gold -> Treta Yuga - 3600 Years - Silver -> Dwapr Yuga - 2400 Years - Bronze -> Kali Yuga - 1200 Years - Iron Dharma or the righteous social conduct is at its best and the most accomplished in Satya Yuga, and gradually decreases with each passing Yuga, consequentially decreasing the duration of the age. The Kali Yuga is the least righteous period of time among all four. What is so fascinating about this change is that it seems so natural. Satya: In Satya yuga, if you did any good deed, its result manifested quick and distinguishably. The bad you did had to face against all the relative good and virtue in the world to surface and be acknowledged. That was why only the bad deeds performed by Rakshasas surfaced and they were killed or taught a lesson by the Lord in various Avatars. There were no shades of grey. Treta: In Treta Yuga, evil had a de...

Prophesied events during Kali Yuga

Image
A discourse by Markandeya in the Mahabharata identifies some of the attributes of Kali Yuga. In relation to rulers, it lists: Rulers will become unreasonable: they will levy taxes unfairly. Rulers will no longer see it as their duty to promote spirituality, or to protect their subjects: they will become a danger to the world. People will start migrating, seeking countries where wheat and barley form the staple food source. "At the end of Kali-yuga, when there exist no topics on the subject of God, even at the residences of so-called saints and respectable gentlemen of the three higher varnas (gunas or temperament) and when nothing is known of the techniques of sacrifice, even by word, at that time the Lord will appear as the supreme chastiser." (Srimad-Bhagavatam (2.7) With regard to human relationships, Markandeya's discourse says: Avarice and wrath will be common. Humans will openly display animosity towards each other. Ignorance of dharma will occur. People will h...

Lesson of Karma from Mahabharat and Cure given by Krishna in Bhagvadgita

Image
King Dhritrashtra, when he lost all his 100 sons in the battle field, inquired of Lord Krishna as to why he met with such a disastrous loss even though he did not remember to have committed any such horrible sin during his present lifetime. Lord Krishna, out of respect and sympathy for him gracefully bestowed upon him divine vision so that he could visualise for himself the heinous act perpetrated by him in any of his previous births which was responsible for his current misery. Thus aided, Dhidrashtra discovered that fifty births back when he was a hunter of birds he once threw his burning net on a tree causing hundred small baby birds to be entrapped and burnt to ashes, while the remaining big birds flew away but they became blind due to the scorching heat of the burning net. The effect of this horrible sinful deed was that Dhritrashtra became and remained blind all throughout his present life and also lost his 100 sons. Dhitrashtra wondered and further inquired from Lord Krishna as ...

Image
According to Srimad Bhagwad Geeta the food each person prefers is of three kinds, according to the three modes of material nature- Satvic, Rajasic and tamasic. Our food habits say a lot about us— āyuḥ-sattva-balārogya-sukha-prīti-vivardhanāḥ rasyāḥ snigdhāḥ sthirā hṛidyā āhārāḥ sāttvika-priyāḥ (chapter 17, verse 8) Satvic foods promotes longevity, virtue, strength, health, happiness, and joy are juicy, smooth, substantial, and nutritious. Persons in the mode of goodness like such foods. Sattvic foods are those that lead to clarity of mind and physical health. These foods are to be consumed on a regular basis. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, milk and dairy products, raw honey come under this category. kaṭv-amla-lavaṇāty-uṣhṇa- tīkṣhṇa-rūkṣha-vidāhinaḥ āhārā rājasasyeṣhṭā duḥkha-śhokāmaya-pradāḥ (chapter 17, verse 9) Rajasic foods are those that are very bitter, sour, salty, spicy, pungent, dry, and burning; and cause pain, grief, and disease; are liked by persons in the mode of passion. What is the duration of Kali Yuga? ⌛⏳

Image
Srimad Bhagavatam says, "Two solar movements make one day and night of the demigods, and that combination of day and night is one complete calendar year for the human being. The human being has a duration of life of one hundred years." (3.11.12) "The duration of the Satya millennium equals 4,800 years of the years of the demigods; the duration of the Tretā millennium equals 3,600 years of the demigods; the duration of the Dvāpara millennium equals 2,400 years; and that of the Kali millennium is 1,200 years of the demigods." (3.11.19) One year of the demigods is equal to 360 years of the human beings. The duration of the Satya-yuga is therefore 4,800 × 360, or 1,728,000 years. The duration of the Tretā-yuga is 1,296,000 years. The duration of the Dvāpara-yuga is 864,000 years. And the last, the Kali-yuga, is 432,000 years. We are currently 5,120 years into Kali-yuga, within the 10,000 golden age at the beginning of Kali-yuga where Visnu-bhakti is still present, so th...
