Atmaram bone indicates Moksha?
What does Atmaram stand for?
ATMA - “SOUL”
RAM - “LORD”
The name Atmaram is of Indian (Sanskrit) origin and means "Atma means soul and Ram means Lord. Combined means the one who is Lord of his own soul."
The Aatmaram is a piece of bone which is a part of the ribcage closest to the heart. In Hindu religion, it is said here, that this is the place where the soul resides. Although, the soul is said to be in the entire body but it is said that this is the centre point.
It is a small bone, nearly perfect model of a person, called Atma-Ram — like arms, legs, head and other parts of the body. Mostly said to have found post cremation process.
It looks like a person in a yogic sitting position with crossed legs and hands and fingers in a mudra. This atmaram is supposed to signify the greatness and the purity of the person.
Though, not the everyone knows about it and it is left unacknowledged. But having said that, It is a sign of a passed-away person, that his soul got “MOKSHA”.
Post cremation , when the deceased’s relatives find the ashes, the priest specifically asks to look out for this one. If found intact, it looks like a person in a yogic sitting position with crossed legs and hands & fingers in a mudra. This aatmaram is supposed to signify the greatness and the purity of the person. And if certain pieces of it are missing or sometimes this is completely missing from deceased’s ashes, in those cases it is said that the person wasn’t such a pure soul, in the sense that it let the satan take over them as & when they did.
There are certain things that Science hasn’t been able to define. Atmaram is one such thing!
